Four 5th grade students from Hudson Prairie Elementary recruited nineteen volunteers to package meals at the Feed My Starving Children facility in Eagan, MN on January 19th. These nutritious meals are sent to starving children and their families to fight world hunger in underdeveloped countries throughout the world.
Hudson Heroes is a program sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Hudson in cooperation with the school. Kiwanis members work with the students on service projects that they feel passionate about. World Hunger was the cause that drove Josh Spors, Austin Sprague, Grant Slavsky and Everett Huth. They recruited fellow students and their families to help with the packing at FMSC. “What a great job they did, and they learned a lot about world hunger,” explained Dick Hagen, their Hudson Heroes coach. In all, Hudson Prairie volunteers packed 8,208 meals!
