Champion’s 3rd Win Makes Hudson Spelling Bee History

The 2019 Hudson Spelling Champion, eighth grader Shloke Jani (left), will compete next at the Southern Regional Spelling Bee on February 20 in Baldwin.  Jani correctly spelled Babylon and fascist to win in the 22nd round. This is Jani’s third consecutive year winning the Hudson Spelling Bee, the only student in Hudson history to advance to the Regional Spelling Bee three times. In both sixth and seventh grades, Jani won regionals and advanced to the Badger Spelling Bee in Madison.  Seventh grader Grace Jones (right) was the runner-up for the second year in a row.
