Gymnastics Team Wins Sectional Championship

The gymnastics team won the sectional championship Saturday. They took first place out of eight teams with a score of 139.475. Second place finish was Marshfield with a score of 136.40. The girls will stay undefeated all season going into the state competition this weekend in Wisconsin Rapids. The whole team will compete on Friday, March 1st in the team competition starting at 2:00 PM.


Individual competition will be on Saturday, March 2nd starting at 11:30 AM. Paige Hillman, Caroline Erickson and Ava Jensen will be competing on Saturday.


Sophomore, Paige Hillman was sectional champion on the balance beam with a score of 9.0. She placed third on floor with a 9.225, second place on bars with a 9.3 and second on vault with a 9.35. In the all around she finished second place with a 36.875. This makes her a qualifier for every event and the all around competition on Saturday at state.


Sophomore, Caroline Erickson was sectional champion on the floor exercise with a score of 9.475. She also qualified for state on the uneven bars placing fourth with an 8.45 and a fourth place finish in the all around with a total of 35.125.


Freshman, Ava Jensen qualified on vault placing fifth with a 9.05. Good luck at State!
