The Houlton Parent Association (HPA) is a volunteer organization dedicated to improving and enhancing the educational and social experience of our students.
* Provide services and support to the students, staff and teachers of Houlton Elementary
* Serve as a communication liaison between the school and the parent/guardian community
* Serve as a fund-raising organization within the school to enrich and enhance educational activities, programs and materials.
* Sponsor programs and events focused toward increasing school spirit through the social interaction of students, families, teachers and staff.
Please join us the second Monday of every month for HPA meetings – 6:30 pm in the Houlton Media Center. All parents, teachers and guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend! Child care is provided.

Parent Group Activities
Most School’s undertake fundraising events to support the many enriching activities, special trips, in-school programs, etc. that are not covered by District Funding. The difference with Houlton Elementary is that we do ONE LARGE FUNDRAISING EVENT which covers our activities for the whole year — The Houlton School Bazaar. We do not come back to parents multiple times throughout the year with multiple fundraising schemes. The Houlton School Bazaar has been supporting Houlton School programs for over 50 years! And parents have been supporting the Houlton Bazzaar for just as long. The Bazaar takes place on a Saturday and involves carnival games set up in nearly every classroom, including; face painting, a prize room, baked goods for sale, crafts for sale, a silent auction, lunch food for sale, and ‘Chrysler Drive for Kids’ (which provide funds for our school based on number of test drivers). It’s loads of fun for the kids (and the friends, cousins and grandparents they bring in!)
This event requires many many parent volunteers to run carnival games, do face painting, help with the silent auction…the list goes on.
