Lifeguard and WSI Training Offered Through Community Ed.

Hudson Community Education is offering American Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor Training. The American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is being held March 23, 24, 30 and 31 from 10am – 6pm. You will learn the latest safety and rescue techniques, and learn to deliver critical care like CPR, first aid and AED administration. There is a pre-test for this course. Participants must be able to tread water for 2 minutes using legs only with their arms across their chest; swim 500 yards continuously using each of the following strokes for at least 100 yards: crawl, breaststroke, and side stroke; submerge to minimum depth of seven feet and retrieve a ten pound object and return it to the surface.  To become certified, participants must attend all days of instruction. You must be 15 before March 31st and must attend all days of instruction to receive your certification. Please register by Monday, March 18, 2019.


Through the American Red Cross WSI Training class you will earn a 2 year certification to teach American Red Cross swimming and water safety, and gain the skills needed to teach courses and make presentations to swimmers of every age and ability. Participants must be able to swim 500 yards continuously using the front crawl and perform all Level IV strokes. To become certified, participants must attend all days of instruction and be 16 years old by April 14, 2019.  Class will be held Saturdays and Sundays, April 6, 7 and 14th, 9am – 6pm. Please register by Wednesday, March 20, 2019.
