Today is School Lunch Hero Day (May 3, 2019)! A huge thank you to our Willow River kitchen staff, Trish, Becca and Shanin, for all you do for us and our students every day! We hope you enjoy your colorful coffee mugs and Knoke’s chocolate!
Freshman Social Studies students negotiate land, resources, and military defense as part of a class simulation. Teachers were able to add excitement to the simulation by combining two classes together. Some of the newly renovated classrooms can easily join together with moving wall dividers.
EP Rock 5th grade student helpers have joined Special Olympics track training. The group of 5th graders help to support track practice on Mondays from 5:00-6:00 PM. Rock students join training in a variety of events like softball throw, running long jump, shot put, javelin, 100 meter and 200 meter dash and relays. The group consists of 21 athletes, 10 student volunteers, 4 teacher volunteers and 6 coaches.
Several Hudson Middle School students were recognized as ‘Raiders of the Month’ for March. The learning habit for March was “Respect.” The goal was to treat others with respect and follow the Golden Rule. Specifically, this group of students excelled in:
- Being tolerant and accepting of difference.
- Using good manners and not using bad language.
- Being considerate of the feelings of others.
- Dealing peacefully with anger, insults, and disagreements; not threatening, hitting or hurting others.
This group of students, their parents, and staff gathered for a celebration breakfast on April 26.
