Board Vacancy Proposed Timeline and Process
- September 11, 2023 Board Member Heather Logelin announces her resignation effective November 30.
- September 12, 2023 District posts vacancy on District website per Board policy #133 for no fewer than 14 days.
- September 25, 2023 Board Discusses at Work Session process for filling vacancy including interview format.
- October 9, 2023 District Newsletter goes to all residents reiterating the vacancy that was posted on September 12, 2023 calling for Board candidates.
- October 30, 2023 Last day to submit a letter of application (addressing qualifications and interest) to the office of the District Administrator. On or before the date of the Board meeting at which the Board considers the potential appointees, each potential appointee shall also submit a sworn declaration of eligibility to hold the vacant board seat.
- November 13, 2023 The Board, at a regular Board meeting, will interview candidates and make a decision on appointment of upcoming vacant seat. If no appointment is made due to not having a majority of Board members support one candidate, the process for the continued deliberation and selection is outlined in Board policy #133.
- December 1, 2023 Board holds special meeting to officially appoint candidate to open position and candidate takes Oath of Office
