Hudson High School
Destination Imagination

Destination Imagination Maker Day & Registration – Oct. 7th at Willow River Elementary

What is Destination Imagination (D.I.)?

D.I. is the world’s largest creative problem solving program. It is a truly Global experience, as Hudson teams participate simultaneously to teams in 40 countries around the world.
D.I. follows the creative process through imagining, innovating and creating unique solutions to challenges. Through this program, STEM turns to STEAM, by adding the arts, through the collaborative process of presenting science, technology, engineering and math in a dynamic 8 minute play. Learn more about the international organization at www.destinationimagination.org

When does D.I. start?

Teams of between 2 and 7 students, grouped by grade/school, begin their process in September, and work toward presenting a solution at a sectional tournament in March. Teams can advance in competition to the state and Global levels. Students will typically meet once a week, for 60 – 90 minutes, according to the team manager/member schedules.

Who is eligible to participate?

ALL Hudson students are eligible (including Home School and Private school students). Teams are led by parent/community volunteers, but all ideas/work must be that of the students! No experience necessary.

How do I sign up?

Click here for a registration form. Registration fees are: $25 for Rising Stars (grades K – 2, non-competitive) $75 for grades 3 and up (teams compete by age/grade level at the sectional tournament in elementary, middle and secondary levels). We are able to offer these reduced registration rates due to a generous grant from General Motors! Fees cover sectional/state tournament registration, challenge material supply budgets and Hudson D.I. t-shirts. *Global Finals travel will potentially require additional fundraising for teams that qualify!
