Creating Our Future Together

The Board of Education has decided to engage the community in a conversation about the Hudson School District’s preferred future. This community conversation is being planned by a group of community members (Community Conversation Design Team) who are interested in the School District’s success and represent a broad range of experiences and perspectives. The team is charged with actively engaging our community in the development of a shared vision and strategic plan that will shape the future of education in Hudson Schools.

What is a Creating Our Future Together?

Creating our Future Together is an interactive visioning session that will inform the Hudson School District’s next strategic plan and help shape the future of Education in Hudson Schools.  This event is for community members, parents/guardians, students, teachers, business leaders, government officials, higher education partners, and others. This is a community conversation where all ideas and perspectives are welcome and everyone has an equal voice at the table. While this conversation is focused on the future, it is not a referendum discussion. The conversations will be facilitated by “Future Search” expert Drew Howick.

The community conversation will outline our past and present history in education to establish a common understanding of where we are as a School District. With a common understanding, the conversation can move to discussing a preferred future. The desired outcomes include, but are not limited to, things such as:

  • Identify qualities of a positive educational experience.
  • Identify what our students need so they are college- and career-ready and civically involved.
  • Identify the issues and trends that are shaping our schools and community.
  • Identify what our community wants from the Hudson School District.
  • Identify opportunities to meet the School District and community’s needs and aspirations.

When?

We want you to save the date! You are invited to three sessions (two evenings and one morning) to contribute jointly to a vision of the future of our School District. We will host the community conversations on April 4, 5 and 6, 2024.
