Northwood Technical College provides classroom and behind-the-wheel (BTW) for the Driver’s Education Program for the Hudson School District. Students registering for the class must be at least 14 1/2 years old before the class starts to be eligible for the classroom portion of Driver’s Education. Class information is listed below. The cost of the 30-hour classroom is $125 per student. Pre-registration and payment are required in order to save your child a spot in the class. Registration and payment must be submitted at least one week before the class start date. This allows Northwood Tech time to create your student’s account in our system, generate a student ID, and send you the login instructions. Registrations received after the deadline will be automatically enrolled in the next available online class.

Thank you for your interest in our online class. Below are a few things to note about the online class.

  1. The email provided during your student’s registration will be used for sending login instructions and communication with the instructor regarding any missing assignments. You may opt to use a parent’s email if you wish to stay informed.
  2. Please include a cell phone number (parent or student) in case extra verification is needed.
  3. The class runs for 6 weeks. Units are released on Monday mornings, and students have until Sunday night to complete them. Self-motivation is key!
  4. There are no set login times, but students must log in each week to complete the assigned modules.
  5. A 78% or higher is required to pass the course and move on to Behind-the-Wheel (BTW). Students can redo assignments anytime during the course to improve their grade.
  6. Our Blackboard system works best with Firefox or Chrome. Internet Explorer is not compatible.
  7. The permit tests (knowledge and road signs) will be taken at the DMV once your student turns 15. The final exam in the online class is not the permit test.
  8. Upon successful completion of the course, you’ll receive a confirmation email with next steps for BTW. The fee for BTW is $275.

Note: Our primary communication is via email, so please check your inbox and spam/junk folders regularly.
