Boys Tennis - Hudson Schools

We’ve accomplished a lot in the past few years and look to continue to build a program that not only competes at a high level, but has athletes that take ownership for their program as well as giving back to the community to help foster a love of Tennis in all ages throughout Hudson. We will continue to focus on things that only we have control over. I’m looking forward to continue seeing the growth and development of not only the players, but the program as a whole.
We will have a parent/athlete meeting on Monday, March 17th, 6:00PM – 7:00PM in the LGI, so I can formally introduce myself and introduce my assistant, Kennedy Fransen. We encourage everyone to attend even if you were a part of the tennis program last year. We would like to articulate our message for our vision and goals to anyone who wants to be a part of Hudson Tennis.
Tryouts will begin Monday, March 31st at the Hudson High School tennis courts and finish Friday, April 4th. Teams will be announced at the end of the week. Teams will be selected first are the top 16 spots. Next is the 16 spots for Junior Varsity and the remaining players on the JV 2 squad. Tryouts will consist of hitting drills and matches to assess the level of skill each player has. ALL paperwork must be completed to participate in tryouts!
We also have a class set up through the Remind app. Class code is hsbtn. This is where I send out information to players/parents.

Tryouts – March 31st through April 4th, 4:00PM – 6:00PM at the tennis courts (teams will be announced at the end of the week)
Saturday, April 19th, Quad at Chisago Lakes
Friday/Saturday May 9th – 10th: Quad at Regis
Tuesday, May 20th: BRC Tournament- Students will miss day of school
Saturday, May 24th: Quad at New Richmond
Tuesday May 27: Subsectionals- Students will miss day of school
Wednesday, May 28th: Sectionals- qualifying students will miss school
Thursday-Saturday, June 5th -7th: Individual State Tournament
Hudson High Tennis is partnering with the Hudson Tennis Association to help them run their Little Pros/Big Pros camp as a fundraiser for the program. Sessions will start:
- June 10th and will repeat every Tuesday from 4:30PM-7:00PM ending August 5th (off the week of July 1st) 8 sessions total
- This is the only fundraiser the Boys team will do at the moment and not only does it help the program, it is a great thing to put on a resume for Student Athletes helping out in the community.
