EP Rock’s Stand-By-Me Mentoring Partnership is a school-based volunteer mentorship program. Community members volunteer their time as mentors to provide academic, social, and emotional support for students. This privately funded program was established in 1998 by a group of teachers.
Goals of the Stand-By-Me Mentoring Partnership include:
- To ensure that students in grades K-5 who could benefit from a mentor have one.
- To increase the self-esteem of each participating student.
- To help each participating student develop to his or her fullest potential.
- To help each student develop a positive, personal vision for the future.
