HHS Peer Helpers

Hudson High School Peer Helpers are students committed to helping others in need of a listener, a friend, encouragement or support. These dedicated individuals provide a confidential resource to help their peers cope with concerns and challenges they face throughout high school. Any student is able to reach out to them or connect with them through the counseling office.
This April, we had the Peer Helper Retreat at Camp Icaghowan. Our Peer Helpers learned new tools, resources, and strategies to help peers with day-to-day concerns. They received training on substance abuse and learned the warning signs of use. They also learned about various aspects of mental health and how to help peers going through difficult times.
