River Crest students made gratitude bead counters in their Kindness Crews this past week! They were encouraged to use the beads to help them remember to think of 10 things each day for which they are grateful!
River Crest students are working their 21st Century creative problem solving and teamwork skills with STEAM and coding challenges in Library Media class! In our media center, our students focus for learning is our library standards, expanding our love for literature and visiting our STEAM/MakerSpace centers.
S.T.E.A.M. is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. During some of their weekly visits to the River Crest Media Center, students will be working in the S.T.E.A.M. content areas learning stations. Our 21st century learners will have access to MakerSpace centers that include: ipads, math manipulatives, markers, colored pencils, coding on Chrome Books, and many other hands on learning tools that will allow them to create, invent and learn collaboratively.
